Chehalis, WA 98532

Title: Coexistence with Beaver, an Amazing Keystone Species!

When: Saturday, August 24, 2024 from 10:00am to 12:00pm

Where: Ocean City State Park, 148 SR 115, Hoquiam. Meet at Picnic Shelter in the Day Use Area.

Who: Best for ages 8 and up. Dress for the weather.

What: Luc Lamarche, owner of Beaver Craftworks, will talk about our beavers, a keystone species native to North America. Luc will discuss the work and presence of beavers and how beneficial this work is to wetlands and all N.A. species that enjoy water. Following the talk, Luc will lead participants on a short walk to see first-hand the work of these swimming engineers — the beaver.

About Luc Lamarche: Luc has a background in civil engineering and in 2021 founded Beaver Craftworks to facilitate healthy coexistence between the needs of beavers and people. He collaborates with several national beaver groups and is involved locally with various watershed restoration efforts.

Light refreshments will be provided following the talk and walk!
